On their first home matchday of the season, Beijing Guoan faced off against Chengdu Rongcheng. Despite Guoan's foreign player Michael Ngadeu being sent off with a red card during the match, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Fabio Abreu converted the penalty in the 18th minute to score Gongti's first goal of the season.
